Closing the Gap in Stroke Care with AI: Insights from ANVC 2024

The Association of Neurovascular Clinicians (ANVC) annual conference continues to serve as a vital forum for stroke professionals dedicated to advancing the quality and accessibility of stroke care. This year, Aidoc’s presence at the event highlighted the growing recognition of AI as a transformative tool for improving neurovascular outcomes.

Elevating Stroke Programs with AI

The diversity of roles attending the conference – including stroke directors, coordinators, APP/APRNs, RNs and support staff – reflected the broad interest in leveraging AI to enhance stroke programs.

While executive leaders often drive AI adoption conversations, our engagement at the conference highlighted the crucial role front-line providers play in identifying and advocating for solutions. Positioned closest to patient care challenges, these providers are instrumental in bridging gaps and championing innovation.

As the well-known saying in stroke care goes, “time is brain,” and many of our conversations centered around how Aidoc’s neuro AI solutions can reduce both time to disease awareness and time to treatment, and what improvements in these metrics would mean for post-stroke care and rehabilitation.

There was enthusiasm for AI’s ability to refine nearly every stage of stroke management.

The Power of Early Awareness and Intervention

The importance of early disease awareness and intervention resonated as a consistent theme throughout the conference. Attendees wanted to understand how Aidoc’s neuro solutions can help accelerate time-sensitive processes by optimizing workflows, supporting evidence-based medical management and reducing readmissions – further spotlighting some of the challenges with non-AI workflows.

These discussions weren’t limited to stroke care alone either. Pathologies such as intracranial hemorrhage, aneurysms and other non-acute neurological conditions also featured prominently. Attendees were interested in how Aidoc’s Patient Management solutions can be applied beyond acute cases, especially in tackling challenges such as minimizing patient leakage and streamlining manual processes.

Looking Ahead: AI at the Forefront

ANVC 2024 highlighted the excitement around the potential of AI to serve as a transformative solution for stroke and neurovascular programs. Aidoc’s distinction as the sole AI partner at this year’s event underscores the importance of helping to foster collaboration between clinicians, decision-makers and AI partners.
